Lefty and Godot came to live with me while I was still at Wesleyan. They made the trip from Connecticut to California in my Sundance with me.

Godot's favorite things included

These two wonderful girls will always have a special place in my heart. I miss them terribly.

Duke and Kady came to live with us in 2004.

Duke captured our attention when we walked in the door with the adorable way he was following someone around and looking up plaintively. He tried this trick on us, too, but we were already convinced.

Duke loves fish flavored treats, and will stand up on his hind legs to eat them from your hand. He's afraid of his poop, and always goes dashing about to escape his own movements. His tail is oddly short, and sometimes he feels the need to attack it. His nightly ritual includes spending some quality time standing, sitting, or lying on tummies of people who are about to go to sleep. Many nights, he is overcome with the crazies just before bedtime, and sometimes shortly after.

Kady is a big fat diva. She had been declawed by previous owners and returned to the shelter because they couldn't cope with her tendency to tell stories during the night. It does seem that she appears to be most talkative during normal human sleeping hours. She loves her mousey. She's affectionate, but only on her own terms and never when Duke is watching. She loves to be petted but hates to be picked up.
